WHO WE ARE

OUR STORY:

    A Non Government Organisation, Almunqidh Foundation, has a lot to talk about. The word 'ALMUNQIDH' meaning 'RESCUER' or 'SAVIOUR.'  and the name was based on the work we are doing. 

This organization was founded in 2021, by Abdulhalim Jamal Al Jabry. The organisation was created with a simple, yet profound, observations of our founder Abdulhalim Jamal Al Jabry. 

Founder words, "I was raised by a single mother since my father had died a few months before I was born in April of 2003. My father died in December of 2002. But I thank God that my mother always tried her best and provided many things for me and my siblings. Unfortunately, that didn't keep me from having a longing for a fatherly figure in my life.

At times, I would have dreams of my father since I had seen his face in photos, but never heard his voice, so even when I dreamt of him, he was mute and dumb in the dreams. So I couldn't hear what he would say but he would hear me.

Whenever I had such a dream, I would cry, 'I wish my dad was here to give me what my heart desires.' At times, I suffered depression in silence, because I thought nobody was going to listen to me, until I found peace in praying so I would talk to God as if He is my doctor or my best friend that I will just tell everything and cry to.

Yeah right, my mother provided most of the things we needed and was necessary, but, something missed, father's love or a fatherly figure.

In Uganda, many children lack even basic needs because of lack of a fatherly figure, or sometimes both parents, like food, drinking water, medical support, sanitary pads, clothes, education, and many many other needs.

And even the needs aside, kids grow up with desires and wishes, instead of barbie dolls, they are playing with sand, making them dirty, but at least beautiful hearts feel at peace. Instead of kids enjoying their childhood, they are made to fetch water from long distances, they are made to be in gardens and not go to school, they are made to use the clothing pads which are not even safe, they are forced to look for food by themselves at a very young age, they are made to believe 'if people who believe in God exist, why do we suffer' or even worse, 'if God exists why do we suffer.'

They tend to grow up with so much trauma, and hatred sometimes towards some people because they start thinking everything happened to them because people didn't help them, yet they were capable, they start thinking that everything happened because God abandoned them, and yet they don't know, [(Qur'an 93:3) 'Your Lord has not abandoned you, nor has He become hateful of you.']. They lack love.

I started Almunqidh Foundation, as the word Almunqidh means "The Rescuer" to give the fatherly support as a team, to orphans, single mothers, the deaf people, street kids, and many other vulnerable people at large."

Small changes with a big difference

We sometimes fail to value that $1 because sometimes we see everything easy for us. But we have not put so much thought on the orphans and the needy who don't have everything to save their future or rather, to put food on their tables. Save a person, and you will be appreciated like you saved the whole humanity. as it is said in the Qur'an (Qur'an 5:32)
